Gwendolyn H. Hinkle
Gwendolyn H. Hinkle graduated from the lower and upper division honors programs at the University of Florida and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, University of Florida, in 1992. Gwen attended Stetson University College of Law and graduated second in her class in 1995. After working as a staff attorney for the Hillsborough County circuit court criminal judges for six months, she left to serve as an Assistant State Attorney for Hillsborough County. Gwen joined Smith & Tozian, P.A., in 1998 as an associate attorney and became a partner in 2005. Have a Heart Tampa has recognized Gwen for her outstanding pro bono service with the Hillsborough County domestic violence assistance program. Gwen served on The Florida Bar’s advisory board for the Law Office Management Assistance Service (“LOMAS”) program for two terms. She has spoken at law school orientation programs on Florida Board of Bar Examiners character and fitness issues, and has been a law school guest lecturer on The Florida Bar disciplinary system. Gwen has participated at the Florida Lawyers Assistance, Inc., annual workshops sitting on a panel with the Chair of the Board of Bar Examiners and Chief Regulatory Counsel of The Florida Bar, and also speaking on Bar Examiners matters in substance abuse and mental illness cases. The majority of Gwen’s practice is the representation of lawyers in Florida Bar disciplinary proceedings and the representation of applicants before the Florida Board of Bar Examiners. Gwen is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers, and the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers.
